Through the years Suzanne El Masry bared the perpetual quest for achieving a true cohesion between tradition and modernism, affirming the permanency of tradition in art and craft and its capacity to coexist with modern trends.

She persistently experiments with innovative techniques aspiring that goal. A true jeweler for almost 30 years now, Suzanne still got the same passion.

The Art

Every single piece in the collection; is handmade; realized through silver or bronze enriched with harmonious materials: semi precious stones, enamels, granulation, pearls, shells and embroidery.

In those unique pieces. Different techniques are used like soldering, forging, stamping as in the Siwa jewelry, free forming using reticulation, kiln fired enameling, stone setting, filigree soldering and wax modeling.

The collection maintains the delicate balance between creative heritage and innovative design, arabesques tangle with stones and enamels to reflect the color of the old charm and the thrilling surprises of the new.

Many threads can be seen in Suzanne’s artistic designs.

Here is tribal thread running through some of the art pieces of, reminiscent of the Bedouin jewelry from the different Egyptian oasis with its bold design, its use of strong symbolical colors, combining metal with fabric, shells, coins, protective talismans, etc. The free formed pieces also recall oriental splendor with their texture, strong design and their sculptural elements. The collection is very varied and is meant to challenge the imagination, and make – if possible - Craft meet Art.
